People ask us all the time what is the difference between a Standard mini split system Compared to a Good or the Best mini split systems or any of the other known brands.

The Best way we can answer that is to give an example of two different models of cars. Most people have experienced buying a car or dealt with service or repairs to their vehicle. So, we felt it would be easy for most people to understand this example as it pertains to mini splits. Let's say one person buys a Mercedes and the other person buys a Chevy. Both vehicles get you from point A to point B. Both vehicles have a steering wheel and brakes. Both vehicles have heating and air conditioning. They Both need Technician's that service or repair them. The Mercedes may have slightly more bells and whistles than the Chevy. The only difference is you paid a lot more money for the Mercedes and will pay a lot more money for service and repairs over the life of Mercedes, than you would of for the Chevy in most cases. Now I am not telling you not to buy a Mercedes or that you should buy a Chevy. I am just pointing out that both accomplish the same thing, just at very different price points.

Another way to look at it is. Your normal cost of a Good DIY Mini Split System, counting the money you are saving on the cost of installation. Is usually one third of the Price of the Best System. That means even if you had to Totally Replace your System Three times over its normal lifespan. Only then would it Equal what you paid once for the Best System.

When you see a SEER Number listed it stands for Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio.

A higher SEER rating indicates better energy efficiency, lower electricity consumption

and lower energy bills. It measures an air conditioner or heat pumps cooling efficiency over a typical season. It is calculated as the cooling output (BTUs) divided by the energy input (watt-hours)

What is a Ductless Mini Split System?

Duct less Mini Split systems have a wall mounted indoor unit along with an outdoor condenser.

Single-Zone or Multizone heat pumps heat and cool your home. The outdoor condensers are connected to the indoor unit through a channel. You can heat or cool a single room or several areas in your home.

Wall unit:

Air handlers blow heat or cooled air in your room without ductwork.

Ceiling casing:

If installation space is limited, a ceiling cassette may be used.

How does a Mini Split heat pump work?

Mini Split heat pumps work to both heat and cool your home by removing heat from the indoor air using refrigerant to transfer it outside. As the temperature drops the heat pump reverses direction drawing heat from the outside condenser.
